True stories
The collection "true stories" consists of 38 works created to accompany a collection of 35 of my short stories with the same title, published in 2018 by Thermaikos Publications in Athens.
Each work corresponds to a story. Just as the redefinition of memories leads us to a new path of consciousness, the mutation of old works led to new works in an attempt to forget what they were, to detach themselves from their previous identity and to acquire a new, jointly combined, value.
What is special about these works is that they are a kind of upcycling, literally and metaphorically. Metaphorically, as the aim was a complete cleansing without residue, without forgotten or hidden pieces of the path so far, the antidote to peace. Literally, as a mixed technique of whole or parts of older works such as my own studies or my three children’s paintings, various kinds of paper, painted sections and sections with writing, which is inspired by the corresponding text of each novel. It is a kind of collaboration of the whole family, of its work and its moments, a collective emotional deposit, at the same time the revival of memory and the closing of a life cycle.
The collection "true stories" was exhibited in October 2018 at the “Eos” gallery in Athens.
The exhibition was accompanied by the sound installation "three" by the artist Petros Tatsiopoulos

'Truth' in Greek means the denial of oblivion. From the word “alithia” , “a-lethe”, means non-lethe, not forgotten but remembered. Is not memory indeed an important tool in the search for truth?
The 35 short stories that make up this book are excursions, confessions and exorcisms of memories that, sometimes strong and sometimes impoverished, traveled rudderless in the soul between loss and self-determination, seeking the meaning of the journey and, therefore, the groping of truth.
