MY ROOTS

I was born in Athens in November 1961. I was a rather lonely child, despite the large family environment that surrounded me. I liked to observe nature and people. I had the rare fortune to have people next to me in my family and at school with an open mind and love for art.
My childhood was decisive for how I evolved. It was during the years of the military dictatorship in Greece. Aside from respect for nature and a love of art, the most important thing my family taught me, was the free will.

MY VISION

My interest is focused on serving the spirit and supporting young people. Μy dream is to create the "ark of art", a house of arts, a cradle of culture, a house for the cultivation and support of young artists, a meeting space for exgange of experiences and ideas.
I organize art exhibitions, artistic residencies, art workshops and any kind of support to artists on my own or in collaboration with people with common directions.
I am always open to and grateful for collaborations with people who share my interests.

MY VISION
My dream is to create the "house of arts", a cradle of culture, a house for the cultivation and support of young people.
I organize artistic residencies, excursions of artistic interest, art workshops for young or old and any kind of support to artists on my own or in collaboration with people with common directions.
I am always looking for the cooperation of people with the same vision and for sources of funding.
PROFFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
I have been working since 1986 until today as a freelance architect in Athens in private and public projects.
I collaborated for several years with the architectural offices “Thymio Papayannis and Associates” and “Yiannis Baibas”.
In 2013 I created an art workshop for children and adolescents that operated in the midst of financial crisis for two years. Its purpose was to guide young people to the path of art and to cultivate them to know themselves and the world.
ARTWORK

My artwork consists of painting, sculpture – including kinetic sculptures, ceramics, photography, jewellery and the creation of clothes.

I advocate the collaboration of the arts. My Greek origin has played a dominant role in my formation as an artist, but also travelling to other countries, the influence of a different culture, the observation of people and the study of philosophy and poetry always gives inspiration to my art.

My works has been exhibited in individual and group exhibitions.

WRITING WORK & PUBLICATIONS
From a young age I started writing poems, novels, fairytales, songs and critic for cinema or art and I still continue.
In 2014 I published “routes”, a poetry collection structured by chapters per decade, which is a poetic archive of my entire work up to 2005, without any selection or thematic distinction.
In 2018 I published “true stories”, an illustrated literary book with 35 short stories and mixed media works, each created for each story.
2020 I started illustrating books for children.
EDUCATION
I graduated from the German School of Athens and studied Architecture in Germany, in the University Fridericiana zu Karlsruhe, financing my studies with a scholarship.
I studied next to renowned architects, artists, engineers, architecture and art historians who were my teachers.
Later I collaborated with the traditional pottery of the ceramist Atsonios in the island of Sifnos.
I was fortunate to be taught by people whose work was significant. However, in many subjects I am an autodidact.
